Sun-room

WOW! It's been a while!
We took a little break to enjoy the weather while it was nice but now that it is over 100 degrees we don't mind working inside.

We got started on the sun-room FINALLY!!! It was an ugly mess, and we can't wait to have it finished!.... Our house will be sort of complete (I don't think a home is ever truly finished though!)

Here are a few before pictures...

Biff had already replaced all of the windows.

We started by laying slate tile... which we absolutely LOVE!!!

We added a wet look sealer to the tile, you can see the difference on the first few rows. The slate was very chalky looking before and the sealer really made it look amazing!

For some unknown reason we took my SUV to pick up the tile. I think that both of us underestimated the amount of tile it would be. Being slate it was more since slate is thicker... 250 sq ft, it was heavy and man was my car riding low!

It's been so long since I posted anything and now I have several things at once!!!

My mom gave my this awesome table base when we moved in and I have been trying to figure out exactly what to do with it since then! Well since Biff can build ANYTHING we went with a wooden table top and he built us a couple of benches to match! We beat them up with a chain (which was pretty fun) and then I stained them a couple of times with Minwax Special Walnut stain from Home Depot. Since we had the 2x6 already left over from another project this table top (made with 2x8) and benches only cost us around $30!

I got a little carried away distressing this one... but it still looks good with the table!

Click the tab at the top for Texas Outdoor Living and see some more of Biff's work! He takes custom orders so if there is anything that you need or would like quoted please let me know.

Please stop back by tomorrow, I will be posting pictures of the finished room and table!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Amanda :)
